St. Charles Public Work Facilities

Wright Construction completed the New Public Works Facility for the City of St. Charles.  The work included an Administration Building for the Public Works Administration; Fleet Services Building to maintain and repair the city’s fleet of vehicles and equipment; site utilities; two detention basins; and approximately 165,000 SF (3.8 acres) of concrete paving.  The Administration Building included locker rooms, reception area, conference rooms, offices, and two workshops.  The Fleet Services Building is a pre-engineered building with four vehicle lifts, overhead crane, vehicle fluids room, shop offices, locker room, storage rooms, industrial shelving, process piping for oil, washer fluid, compressed air, hydraulic oil, lubricants, and two mezzanines.

There are future plans for five additional buildings and paving.  Wright Construction implemented an aggressive schedule to complete the site utilities and enclose the Administration Building by Winter 2014 to ensure continued construction activities unobstructed by adverse weather conditions.  This allowed for an early completion of the facilities in only 10 months.
