St. Johns Hospital -Mercy (Surgery & Laboratory Expansion)

The expansion of this major St. Louis Medical center began in the spring of 1990. The total expansion of operation rooms, recovery area, surgery preparation, family waiting, morgue, Histology, and Cytogenetic Laboratories makes up nearly 85,000 SF. A rail system to transport specimens from the Operating Rooms to the Laboratories- nicknamed the Screamin' Eagle, was added in design in the middle of the construction process.
